Play for another couple years before forking out 500 pounds (Same as about 700 US dollars, or 725 Canadian). Like, k, awesome, you've been playing for a couple years, i'm sure your better than that other kid who's played for 1...but in all honesty, a new guitar won't make you better. Don't ask our advice, cruise around a bit, figure out what tone you want.
I'll be happy to give you my input on a specific guitar you've been eying, but until then, play the one you have.

I dont think guitar makes me better, but i never have own guitar.
Cant just borrow my fathers guitar forever, he needs it too.
And i have some extra money that i can spend, so 500 isnt much
in this situation.

just go to a local music store and play whatever catches you eye in the store..if you buy it from an internet store without playing it first you'll regret it... trust me i just did sell a guitar because i bought it without playing it and i hated the thing

Hey man, I'll answer your question. I'd recommend the Jackson DK2, or basically any of the Jackson range up to that point. Also the Ibanez S260QM and again any of the S range. Also the Ibanez RGR321EX <--- seriously hot guitar (My 1st choice). Oh and check out www.thomann.de for somewhere to buy, good prices and very good people to order from generally.

From my experience Ibanez and Jackson have very good fast necks and decent build quality Schecter has a little bit slower neck but better build quality and tone

Yeah Schecter's rock. I think my Hellraiser is much better quality than the comparative Ibanez's/Jacksons. But its hard finding them outside of the US. I had to order mine over US ebay. The RGR321EX is very very nice though. Couple of stores near me have one. Serious GAS considering how cheap they are.

My Schecter c1 blackjack has better tone and build quality. I also have a Jackson Rx10d could you guess from my name? Any way i prefer the jackson's neck because it is thinner and has no paint on the back. But thats just a personal preference. Overall the Schecter is superior guitar considering bang for the buck ratio.

I like the Jackson DK2M a lot, kickass features, nice playability(stock duncan jb jazz pickups) and I think should be about 300 in GBP. Plus there's nothing sexier than a white Jackson dinky as far as strats go.
