Marshall 1960A

I am going to buy a new 4x12 cab soon. The Marshall 1960A is one of the cabs I was looking into. What are your thoughts on this cab and the styles it would excel in and also what styles would it not be well suited for?

Guitar music.

Seriously, it's a versatile cab, everyone uses them for everything. I persoanlly think Marshall is too warm and muddy, but there you go.

gear thread.

i have one, dont really like it. there arent enough mids. When i get another cab, it will be loaded with man'o'wars or v30s to balance out the complete lack of mids. Its so bad that i have the mids dimed, and its still not good enough.

Other than that, its PLETNY bassy and has very sizzly highs. Can thunder quite nicely. Good for scooped and gritty sounding stuff.

good for: hardcore, death metal, nu metal, and basically anything that needs modern tones

not good for: me hahahaha. damn i need some more goddamn mids, but i dont want to open up the cab and void my 5 year warranty.

I don't know what's with the "no mids," but I had one, and my friend currently owns one and there are plenty of mids, I think it depends on your amp. He's got a JCM800 and even w/ the mids at noon, it's ridiculously mid-heavy.
