I would say many of the Randalls from the last decade would get you close. I think its a myth that to get Dimes tone you have to use Deans/ Dimebucker and Krank. As far as I know he never recorded anything with Pantera using that setup, maybe Damageplan but not before that. Maybe check out the Randalll RG100ES.

Any decent hi-gain amp will get close, maybe not perfect, but close. Just eq it properly.

Most high gain solid state amps can get into that realm of tone...

It doesn't even need to be solid state though. I had a 5150 and used an GE-7 to and got pretty close in that range. I've had same results with a Mesa.

A Randall Cyclone will nail Dimes tone perfectly. It's basically a Warhead without the effects, but it still cost and they are pretty rare. I think Randall stopped making them for a while because it was shitting all over the V-max sales.

I would imagine that some solidstate pedals might do it too. Dime liked bees.... Nah but seriously his tone is quite edgy and trebly so something like a MT-2 or that new Metalcore pedal might get close. I have no idea what your budget is here though so that advice might sound terrible.

a friend of mine was using a really old ibanez rg with a bill lawrence xl500 pickup, going into some dodgey krank amp and a mesa 2x12, and his sound was very pantera esque,

I was really impressed with the bill lawrence pup though, sounded really defined, however it was a bit to trebly for my liking
