locking tuners make a difference
I have a ibanez rg120 ,with a non locking tremelo, that I really like. It stays in tune pretty well, even when I get a little crazy (when installing the strings right and tightening the string to the proper pitch when tuning). Would locking tuners make it that much better?

Is this a question? I didn't see any question marks anywhere. People here also like it when you use complete words, not acronyms and abbreviations. Correct your post into correct English and maybe somebody will consider helping you.

"abreviations/short hand" I didn't use any acronyms.

What are you talking about? Lots of people use abbreviations on this board. And there are no question marks, but for fuck's sake it doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out what he's asking....
To the OP (oh god sorry I used an acronym, how dare I...), although I have no experience with locking tuners, from what I hear they can in some cases be just as effective as a floyd-style tremolo.

Locking tuners are a very good investment- i've got some on a non-tremolo equipped guitar, and it stays in tune forever... I have no doubt that if you installed them on your Ibanez, that you would benefit

for the locking tuners to be completely effective, make sure you have a graphite nut installed. A bone or plastic nut will let the string pop back and forth, kinda ruining the point of the locking tuners.
a good way around this however is to buy a stick of graphite (art stores) and rub it into your nut whenever you change strings, and right before you play.

are you using a graphite nut? My nut is clearly plastic. I'll have to get a graphite nut then.

Locking tuners are fantastic, as is a good graphite nut. Proper nut slots are just as important as well. I've experimented with bone, delrin, corian, and PRS' "unobtanium" nut material. Delrin is great but is very very soft and makes your open strings sound a little muffled. Bone works if you keep it lubed. I like using the stock PRS stuff, it works for me and my non locking trem stays in tune. You can get the pre slotted PRS blanks from gtrheaven.com, but they would probably need to be shaped for your guitar.

On guitars with no tremolo, you notice very quickly when it has cheap tuners. A good set of locking tuners would be invaluble, particularly with a tremolo.

I like Gotoh machines, but I've not experienced their locking nuts.
I'm sorry, that cracked me up...

I was told that Planet Waves's Locking tuners, with the string clipper, actually breaks strings as well? I haven't heard too many good things about them...
