Ok so I have an real craving to start listening to bands that combine really heavy sections (down tuned, slower tempo but not doom slow) with lots of clean/ acoustic passages and both Death and Clean vocals. Kinda like Opeth but slightly less weird, more mainstream melodies but still melancholy. Insomnium get pretty close as do some Death-Doom and Gothic Metal bands but basically I've found Moonspell and Swallow the Sun and they kinda do it but just not very well . Reason I'm asking is that's kinda how my songs always come out when I write so I'd like to listen to real bands that actually do it. Any recommendations?
