well my e string broke so im going to replace my strings soon, with a slightly heavier gauge.

i was looking around my house and i found some jazz strings, nickel wound.

i think i tried one of these before because one of them was opened, but it was also a 13 which is a little too thick for me.

how will this affect my sound?
what's the difference?

and is it worth going out and buying some new strings rather then using these jazz strings I found?

Are they actual flatwounds or somthing, or just like called Jazz Mediums or something on the packet?

They wil just be thicker and more kinda, deep-toned, if it's the latter.

The string will be harder to play on due to more tension. Your tone will be tighter sounding and will have more sustain with the thicker gauge strings. You'll probably get a bit more bass, too, due to the extra mass of the string.

If they are flatwound, they will be really easy on your fingers too, but this is accompanied by a smoother tone.

my friend reminded me of last time I tried them, but last time I tried them I used like 15s or 13s or something.

i have some 11s which should'nt be too bad.

if i cant find the ernie balls that i had, i think i gave them to my friend.
