impossible drums + no time signature + disregard for any song structure = not progressive, not wierd, just shit.

admittedly the riff at 2:19 in autoerotic asphyxiation is cool

the disregard for song structure is what makes it progressive. Technically prog. music really came into its own when the bands focused on not making songs, but making music that could merely be called art, hence one of its original genre titles known as art rock. This is definitely a ways from that, but is still decent stuff considering that it is midi. If it was finished i would consider to be somewhat progressive, and imo a mix between cephalic carnage and nile would be sick. Plus, songs don't technically need a set time signature, look at spiral architect.

Maybe you should find a adequate drummer if you think these parts are impossible, the insanely fast blast beats you're hearing was my attempt at putting a gravity blast into GP, if you have a better method please inform me.

if you and your band can play this shit cleanly and audibly without fucking up every .2 of a second ill buy your cd on the spot but i already know you cant because the harmonies and riffs are just random notes [not random like dep and psyopus because they are actually good. id like to see chris arp play something like this because he probably cant]

PRetty good stuff. BBut in some parts it sounds like you're just trying to be as technical as possible with little regard to the flow of the music. Definitely not stuff I could play in a million years, of course, but I think if you spent less time on complexity and more on sound and flow, I think your songs would be really kick ass.

i agree that theres parts here that consist of technicality for technicality's sake. i also have my doubts about certain parts being played cleanly, if at all. what i think alot of you are missing is that this fucker is a mere 16 years old. theres definitely some cool riffs buried in there, and ive got say sixsicsix is light years ahead of my development when i was his age. keep on writing dude, and im sure you will write some excellent stuff as you progress.
