Exclamation Crate Blue Voodoo and Amp Suggestions

I'm looking to get a new amp head, I've been searching around and so far I'm looking at getting a Crate Blue Voodoo BV120H. Unfortunately I didn't do my research on getting my first amp and admit I was a fucking loser for doing so but this time around I want to make sure I'm getting the right stuff. I want to keep my price range under $2000 (aus). I prefer a tube sound over any solidstate (obviously). Thanks to anyone who says to go to the shop and just try all of them I plan to do that too (guessing you didnt read this far). I play metalcore, hardcore and metal, if that helps narrow down the search.

Thanks

i think you might be happier with a 5150/6505 (same thing). Its much tighter, thrashier, and overall lovely for the 'core' stuff. Also does medium gain crunch quite nicely. Great example of bands who use them: Between the Buried and Me, The End, The Chariot... and countless other hardcore bands... man... just look for an endorsement list hahahha.

blue voodoo 120's are sweet for brutal death stuff, but i'm not too sure about any tighter stuff like hardcore or metalcore. I find they have a little too much sag for the 'core' department. And on the subject of the blue voodoos, i'd also suggest the 150 over the 120. Has SO MUCH MORE versatility that i dont see a reason for getting a 120 in the first place.

hmmm

the peavey sounds good just the price is a bit more. I've watched some vids off youtube from people who have the blue voodoo and some vids of the 5150 (dont know how good the sound quality on those vids are). I want to be able to keep my notes nice and clear with some stuff like Lamb Of God while I can also have a nice hardcore sound. It might be asking a bit much for such a low budget but I just want something that I won't want to sell in a year or 2.

nice and clear LoG and good hardcore sound? 5150 for the win!

crate is a rectifier type (in some ways acts much like a mesa boogie rec) and can get muddied easily.
