Guitars w/Floyds
I want to get a guitar with a floyd and I was wondering what you guys though would be good choices. I plan on using the tremolo a lot so it has to be sturdy. I like the new schecter hellraisers except for the fact that they have emgs(I HATE THEM) but they have a OFR. So I guess I can change pick ups in it.

Jackson DK2M which also comes with JB/Jazz stock, bitchin for 500$, or 80's Charvel Models (4, 5, or 6) on ebay, some of em came with schaller floyds.

Yeah the mode 4 in particular, not sure if it's a good kahler or not though.

Early 90's Ibanez RG's, the original edge is as good as the original floyd. Ibanez never reached that quality again, I have a new Ibanez RG prestige now but my old '91 RG750 kicks it's ass when it comes to the trem.
They can only be found in the high-end models, which usually come with dimarzio or dimarzio/ibz pickups.
The old Jacksons are a good call as well. Same goes for ancient Kramers (stagemaster in particular)

For an Ibanez RG, hunt on ebay for a 2nd hand original RG550, one of the greatest guitars ever made.

what about the new rg 550 it has the first edge trem I think. I played it at guitar center a while back and thought it was one of the best guitars I have played. I am going to down tune a lot mainly Db and B or Bb standard. And budget pretty much anything but proferably under a $1000.

Well yeah but the new RG550 is a lot more expensive than the originals bought 2nd hand, I think construction quality might be exactly the same, but something tells me that the original 550's were slightly better in quality.
Under 1000$ you can get loads of good shit... Look for the early early Jackson Japanese made Pro series, I think there were a couple of neckthru models with OFR's which can be had these days for under a grand.
If you're looking for something strictly new my first choice would be th 550 reissue or the newer Charvel strats or stars if you're into that, they come with OFR's, some weird special sawn maple neck and JB's and sell for a grand..

what about a guitar with a mahgany body because I dont really like the sound of alder it always sounds a little thin and i like basswood but not as deep sounding as mahgany.

heh good luck when is tuning time!
Khalers are pretty good though, if you are going to buy a jackson...i suggest to get a pro series, because their floyd sucks when its not a pro serie....i know it by experience

Im not sure what your looking to spend but Caparison is a great choice for playabilty and tuning stability...I use the trm ALOT live and never even have to think about checking my tuning.
