String guage question..
Alright I have these string that I've been playing in B (BEADGB), but they seem to uhmm loose. The dude at the guit. shop told me, "these will work..". hah obviously they don't. Can you help me out with a guage that will keep the strings not too tight and not too lose. Thanks.

I think .12 is gonna do it for you. If not then maybe some custom .11.

If your guitar is 25.5 scale, get 13-56s, if it's 24.75, get 14-60

+1 except I have 13-59's because I used a D'addario 7 string set. Perfect for B, although Dean Markley 54-12's work great for it too.

I use 13-17-26-36-52-60, It's the bottom of a set of Zakk's custom lights and the high strings from a set of medium jazz. Nice and tight, just the way i like it!. IMO the Zakk set is unplayable with them going down to.10, they just seem to be flappin' in the breeze. It's expensive but my co-guitarist likes the lighter one's so its work's out good.

Thanks dude!!
Hmm about buying a seven string set and only using six of them.. would that work even better? I have never even thought of doing that!!
Anyway, I've got one guitar, my Jackson.. which is a 25.5 and I've got my custom scalloped axe and it's a 24.75.. Thanks for the tips!

If you bought a seven string set, it'd be accomplishing the same exact thing as buying a heavy gauge set, you'd just be paying extra for a string you wouldn't be using.
