Hows my vocals sound ?

Hello I've asked this before but when I've recorded tracks from home but recently we went and recorded an EP in a studio and I'd like you have a listen.

"Everything Mine"

Hope you like my vocals but then doesn't matter if you don't as I appreciate that you've given it a listen anyway.

Thanks.

sounds kind of generic for most metalcore bands nowadays, but they are'nt bad.

They were ok, use the growls and high screams as your main vocals rather than the Metalcore screams.

Cheers

Thanks for listening to it.

Doesn't look like I've broken any boundaries but whatever you think was good then I say thankyou, for what I seem to of put in there where it wasn't exactly needed like metalcore screaming then I might have to review this and see if I can make an improvement on this for next time by doing perhaps more extreme high pitched screams instead.

If you have any vocalists that I can listen to in particular so I can get the idea of what to avoid and then what to be inspired by that would be great.

Thanks again.

well it all depends on the style that you're aiming for.

a good vocallist is the one from All Shall Perish, he never gets boring, expecially on thier new CD, he uses a very broad range of metal vocals.

Vocalist from Through The Eyes Of The Dead is decent, so is TBDM's vocalist, except Trevor's high main vocals are kind of weird.

I like them to be honest. You should add some pig squeals in there and maybe mix up the types of vocals you do. More high pitched screams and deeper growls.

Thankyou

Thanks for the recommendations, much appreciated.

Yeah I love Black Dahlia Murder, he tends to stick to highs, lows which is cool because that's his style and has his own unique way of doing them.

The All Shall Perish vocalist is great too. There is some early material that I did with my band that's on http://www.purevolume.com/mylastvictim well it's me a few years ago so might sound shoddy in places. In the verses of "Lacerate" I kinda do a fairly similiar thing. I also do some pretty lame singing too, ha!

Through The Eyes Of The Dead I'll have to give more of a listen as the track I listened to on Youtube didn't really do the vocalist justice as it was mostly flanger effects smothering his voice

Oh and pig squeals yeah I might chuck some of that in at some point but if on the playback it sounds shit I won't bother as I did a power metal yell on one of the tracks but on the playback it sounded too cheesy so I took it out.

I'm actually very fond of the low vocals that Guy does from The Red Chord and Mieszko's (RIP) screams from Nasum so if any of my vocals sound like that then that's cool

Thanks,

Ah i've taken a liking to At The Throne Of Judgement, it's along the lines of BDM instrumentals with more "deathmetal"ish vocals.

Thanks, I don't like to sing so if we did an album I'd only do it on one track or none at all.

I really enjoy growling the most so in future tracks I'd like to get more into the low end growls and roars

I'm also planning to go back into the studio and do more powerful screams as I did feel that I held back a bit.

Cheers !

Very helpful comments you've all left.
