dead neck?
ive heard the term "dead neck" but im not sure. on my b string on the 17th fret, the note doesnt sound with i pick it, all of the other frets/strings sound , but in that one spot it doesnt. ive tried switching strings but it stays the same. is there a problem with the neck. this just came up in the past few months. ive had the guitar for about 4 years now.

Take it to a guitar shop, don't try to do it yourself!
