Mate, Feed, Kill, Repeat
Slipknot is hated here, but i wanted to know how good this album is compared to their others.
Its said to be their best one.
I have 2 of the songs, Slipknot and Gently, there was DM type vocals and a solo in Slipknot.

I don't really care for Slipknot, but when I was in my nu-metal phase around a year ago, I did download Gently from that album. I actually like it. That song probably could be called "metal" without the "nu" actually. I've also heard Bitchslap. Strange song. Goes from heavy to lounge style music in the blink of an eye.

I heard it was suppose to be like a more evil sounding version of Mr.Bungle, but I don't know how true that is???

I can kinda see what they mean; but no, it just sucks. I haven't heard it in probably 8 years though.

Somebody sent me the album a few years ago because I wouldn't believe that it could possibly be any good. I still don't think it's anything great, but it is alot different than the music they're known for. I can somewhat see the Bungle reference in a way I guess. I'd recommend giving it a listen at least, you might like it, who knows?

I like the hidden track at the end. Pretty killer!

Well i have the whole album now...
Wow its really wierd, but it has its good parts.
If they went back to this and built on it they could be somthing good.
EDIT:
The last track Killers Are Quiet is basically 20 mins of nothing, in the end someone is yelling PLAY FREEBIRD!! SKYNYRD(sp) YEAH!!!!

Yeah, that's the other song I was thinking of. That song was boring.

It's weird Mick Thompson stated that Cannibal Corpse and Mr. Bungle was their biggest influence when they started out

Mick should be leading Slipknot.
I liked the tempo of the songs from their self-titled. It was faster than this album, but MFKR was better with vocals and guitar playing.

It was probably just HIM, not the rest of the band, although the drummer apparently likes black metal.

Mick and the drummer wrote the entire first Anal Blast album and played on it.

Even though I hate Slipknot, I'll come out of the closet and say I liked some of the things from their self-titled album. Last year a friend of mine let me borrow a mix cd and it had some songs from the self-titled. I'll admit, I still kinda like those songs. Purity was my favorite song about seven years ago. I still think Slipknot is trying their best to kill metal as we know it.
I'll listen to MFKR if given the chance. I don't know if I'll like it or not.
