Static X
First album is a classic. Second record was pretty cool. Lost their way on Shadow Zone. Start a War was a poor attempt at a return to form. New album Cannibal sounds great!
Anyone else like this nu-metal band?

Absolute garbage. I never liked them even in my nu metal days.

I have only heard 2 songs from Wisconsin Death Trip, Fix and the title track.
Both are good songs.
Listening to Fix, it sounds like this-Put it in Jell-O, drop dead, banana fix.
Hahaha.

I liked half of WDT back when it came out. I listened to the second album (Machine?) once and never again.

I got Shadow Zone back in my nu-metal days. I'd probably enjoy it enough if I got it out right now. I may do that actually. The song 'Black And White' is also cool.

i was into them, before i started buying death metal, and a short while after. after that i didnt buy, nor rarely listen, to much stuff like this. so, for that time, i was only into wisconsin death trip. push it, bled for days, love dump and the title track were my favorites. i had to look up the names just now . anyway, id probably try this one out, now. but i probably wouldnt care for the other albums.

Yeah, I could care less if they are considered mu metal or whatever. I have always liked this bands music and that's all that counts for me. I need to get the new album, so I don't know what to say about it. I expect it to rock though.

The new album is leaps and bounds ahead of Shadow Zone which is what I consider their worst. Start a War as I said, was like a mix of Machine and Shadow Zone, so it still loses. SZ and SAW both had the singing vocals thing happenin, you know? And like on WDT and Machine he rarely sung at all [if he did once?]. And on Cannibal they really managed to strip it back to meaningless dance beat harsh vocal chug one chord all day nu metal shite. It's great.
One thing, I wish they'd tune back to drop C.

Machine... Cannibal
I got Machine and I love the way the first track kicks in.
If Cannibal is anything like Machine then I'm tempted to get it.
I prefer the tracks where he just shouts and has a fast tempo.

I will buy the new album tomorrow. I have been needing a Static fix lately.
I case anyone cares; I've seen them live twice. Both shows were musically awesome. The band knows how to jam and make themselves noticed.

Start a war was a big pile of bullshit. I got Shadow Zone back in 2004 Summer, I think? I instantly loved it and I still think its a great album, my favorite one from them. WDT is second on my list and Machine as third
Favorite songs:
The Trance is the motion
Machine
Love Dump
Bled for Days
Sweat of the Bud
Anything But This
+ a handful of tracks from Shadow Zone, I havent got that cd anymore
so I cant really remember which tracks were my favorites. Downloading it back as we speak

They were supporting Korn here back in 2003 or 2004? Anyways I went to see that show and Static-X made up the 39€ I spent on the ticket, I'll definetly go see them again if they'll ever play here again

Ok Guys,
Holy fuck, I never ever expected this from Static X, but there are some purely mindblowing parts on this album, like literally some of the best fucken shit I have ever heard, any genre, and band, anything.
I challenge you to dislike the following:
Solo to Cannibal
The absolutely mindblowing and innovative crazy crazy tapping solo on Behemoth [wow]
The frantically awesome fucken pace of the track Reptile [once again, just wow, that is one fucken awesome riff and wicked concept for a song, LOVE IT.]
I'm seriously loving this.

I think they're older stuff is good, not so much their newer stuff. I know Wayne Static's cousins too, I used to be in a band with one of them.

I used to really love their Wisconsin Death Trip album, but they just grew to be really boring and flavorless. Saw one video of one of their songs, and the music just absolutely suck.

O.K.! So I downloaded Cannibal and I can say after 6-8 listens that this album does suck balls, no kidding. I was pretty dissappointed, however the album definetly has its moments, but comes nowhere close WDT or SZ (if you ask me). So far I'm digging 'Reptile' the most, but I really hope I'll get into this album eventually

I quite like them actually, probably out of nostalgia (used to be on many, mŕny soundtracks of my favourite PSX-games), but I found most of their songs quite enjoyable, even today.
Oh and since I'm on smallband and websites are heavy, what album is 'The Trance is the Motion' on?

I can't say that I don't like it. Because that is probably one of the albums that got me into metal. Along side with Metallica and somehow Styx got me into metal.

after machine they got that fag tripp eisen, what a chimo he was, but yeah, the good albums had this asian guy whose name escapes me at the moment, but he played on cannibal, thats why it doesnt suck. its intense as fuck, behemoth is one of my favorite tracks, i love the techno-esque intro to it, fucking savage. and yeah, i always group them with rammstein and shit, but i guess they could fit into numetal as well.
