The only interviews I've ever read with Bundy were books by Ann Rule (who used to be a personal friend of Bundy before becoming a true crime writer) and Bob Keppel. The one's with Rule were rather dull as he basically plays cat and mouse with her to satiate his enormous ego; he never really says much of interest. I mean, he'll start to say something interesting to reel your attention and then draw back once he has his audience secured.

The Keppel stuff was very interesting, though. Keppel flew down to Florida several times during the mid-late 80's with one of the lead detectives on the Green River Task Force (Dave Reichert) to consult Bundy on those crimes. Bundy fancied himself an expert on serial murder and felt that he could give valuable insight to help them find the Green River Killer.

Realistically, however, it was just two guys on the opposite sides of the law trying covertly to manipulate each other. On one hand, Bundy was obviously trying to manipulate Keppel and the GRTF detectives in order to feel important, break up the dull monotony of prison life, and probably in order to precariously relive his own crimes through confidential details about a new, even more prolific serial killer throwing a party in Bundy's own backyard.* On the other hand, Keppel was manipulating Bundy into a sense of self-importance by pretending to give a shit about everything he had to say in order to loosen his tongue and elicit some confessions out of him while his guard was down.

Neither guy gets quite what they want, but they both get pretty close. This makes things very interesting not only from the perspective of criminal justice, but also from the perspective of social interactions.

*Additionally, many felt that Bundy's main interest was stopping the GRK before he broke whatever Bundy's true record was in serial murder (I don't agree, but I suppose it's possible). Others felt that Bundy's main interest was in delaying his imminent execution by demonstrating that he could be of value to law enforcement in capturing similar offenders.

Yeah I was wondering the same thing myself. They refer to it as a cranial parasite which is certainly dehumanizing, but beyond that don't mention anything.
