Tao Parasite (Unseen Functions)
Code:
Tao Parasite (Unseen Functions)
-
All possess an inner cosmos,
but this one is empty,
displaying positive direction,
but within,
inert and lethargic.
-
Stimulation of mystical faculties,
by introduction of alien substances,
to generate,
exotic processor conditions,
futile,
due to the non-input of thought.
-
Evaluation,
seeks tao in transience,
self-invalidating philosophy,
one of many,
tries to reproduce the oft-selected,
to feel the focus of other ones,
grace the concept of oneself.
-
Disabled imagination,
due to chameleon-like behaviour,
a voice with chords slit,
by the master controller.
-
Not as empty as first,
justifiably assumed,
in this one has insecurities,
writhing,
huddling kobolds,
sneering at the external.
-
Interest in climbing high against,
the gravity of a formation,
a vapour,
that will disperse and disintegrate,
in the currents of the cosmos,
thus is tao.
-
Has some moments reminiscent of my older stuff's grammar. Has my newer vocabulary and 'calculated' metaphors.
In fact, I've only just realised a better metaphorical use for 'Tao Parasite'. Damn... Oh well...

it seems impersonal and emotionless so noone really wants to read it. iread lyrics for their emotive value and meaning, this just seems like theoretical science. its like reading a novel versus reading a text book.

True...
But it is a very cold analysis of someone.

My apologies for not commenting sooner. I thought I had. I've read it several times since you posted it.
It has a born into nothing and ends in nothing feeling when I read it now. Maybe it's because of things going on in my life right now that it's taking a tangent I hadn't thought of when I first read it.
Reading other pieces you've written makes me try to get inside your head to see where your ideas are coming from and sometimes that's a challenge. Not a bad one.
This seems more structured as poetry than song to me, but I think it could be a headier song.

I don't see it as non emotive at all....it says to me that underneath all our posturing the universe is in fact impersonal and emotionless, and its us that supply the tao in order to believe the universe is warm and fuzzy.... Which i do believe. I mean if i was god I would carpet the cosmos with groovy green shag.... Sorry i lost it there.... If i cover my self in honey and jump on a large ant hill the universe will explaine about how its "not personal" by having its ants eat my ass. No emoting no more Tao. Just me and the ants and feeble green shag explanations by an impersonal universe...... Well... thats how I read it. Peace

You guys are appearing to get the idea.
The ant hill and the honey analogy is good.
It does stem with the way I think, especially in the way that the person being described is described as living in a dream world: normal, modern human life. It was originally written about a mate of mine who I got angry with because of his narrow mind, but when I wrote it, I thought that it could be generalised a lot more.
It's not even that the universe is impersonal, it's just perfect, and only deluded humans would say otherwise. It if wasn't perfect, then its mathematics would cause unstable paradoxes and space time would rip open and stuff like.
Even then, it would be perfect, because it works the way it should. If it slaughters twelve billion human beings because it is obeying its algorithm construction, that's fine by me. Of course, we have the chance to escape it.
It's nature operating as it should. This is tao. And humans have the chance to realise this while they are outlooking beings. Those that refuse are the unnatural ones. Nature should not really be defined as this substance or space though, its just what is - tao. A bit like karma gets looked on as a substance or force.
Tao Parasite also refers to humanity as a whole, as well as this one human being, as they leech off of nature and cause harm all because of their delusions. It can mean more than this too, there are lots of meanings, but within this kinda context.
And LB, if I write music to this, which I may get round to actually, it'll be pretty heady, yeah, considering I cite Spiral Architect, Gorguts and Cynic amongst my major influences. This one will have to really complex and unusual, with twisting, thematically-confused, journey-like structure and harmony. In fact, I may get round to it at some point. You've inspired me!
I recently came up with a new idea that I'm gonna be using in a new piece, which also acts as a basic lesson in calculus.

Ok, I surrender this time. Turns out I was wrong. I guess I didn't give it a chance, I looked at it and thought "Oh here we go, fucken another look how intelligent I am poem." and didn't look for meaning [can you blame me considering the general track record of this place ]
Although, there are such things as emotive words, some wouldn't have gone astray.

theoretical mathmatics should be fun
I'm glad you liked the ant hill analogy...think i was drunk.. no just jesting.
Best to ignore "Carpet the cosmos" its just another bad sci-fi comedy ill never finish writing yet live a little under my every-day-skin....what were we talking about...oh yeah.. Songs of love and calculus. I cant wait to read this. You must post it when its finished.
Once, a long time ago one of my chillens was havin trouble with the times tables.. So i devised a board game based on answering times table questions, it was called 81. I had several reasons for calling it this...most of which elude me now. Any way my child showed such an improvement the teacher asked her..wtf. I got a call from the teach.... wanted me to explain..
The point is, or was we played that game as a family, and thats why she learned. I told the teach this. I gave her a feeble green shag explanation about an impersonal universe.. and how under such conditions i needed to give my child an edge, and i would do this by giving her unconditional limitless LOVE..
and guitar lessons of course..
Peace..

I think that passionate language can destroy the clarity of some pieces. I don't want a person's feelings to cloud or blur a good description. Sure emotions come up as part of pictures, but never commentating. Sometimes my pieces contain first-person perspectives, but I do not let them distort the images. Their emotions are only ever part of the images.
If I ever have kids, which I would like to one day, I think I'm gonna try stuff like that so they aren't bored and machine-processed by institution. My old RMPS teacher, Mr. Nixon, has been promoting the idea of 'thinking methods', or something with a similar name, around here, because as he realises as smart as kids are or can be, they generally aren't thinking straight, or well.

Thanks. It would a rather obvous idea though, wouldn't it?
Yes, I agree, it's like the saying "to test a man's character, give him power". Everything a person does reflects them.

Will get some more up soon. I'll see if I can't get lyrics down for my second song. Expect them to be quite positive if I do get them down.

Enoch is a much loved member of tc and a very creative mind. I think it's from inhaling all that salt water. He's also a great supporter of pertuating the guitar so he's good for metaltabs, too.
