short scale neck and B standard
I am thinking of buying one of the dean 79 series guitars and I was just wondering what string gauges i would have to use to have the feel of a 56 and a 60 on normal 25.5 scale guitar the deans are 24 3/4 thanks

....you don't have to do anything different......you can use those same guages, you just need to set it up to handle 'em. ZW, In Flames, those guys especially tune down to like B and they've got 24.75

usually it´s enough to just use one gauge heavier than what´s used in 25.5

Yeah just go for some tighter strings, and/or use higher action, is all.
