My amp head is 4 ohm and my cab is 8 ohm, is this bad???

No, as long as you satisfy the minimum load requirement you're okay. I'm in a similar situation right now where I'm using my new Ampeg VH140c with a 8 ohm standard Marshall 4 X 12 until I order my Vader cab wired for stereo (which this head is). Each poweramp on the head is rated at 4 ohms. I got one output going from one of those outs into the cab's 1 input and I'm ok for now, but like I said I'm going to get a Vader cab wired stereo at 4 ohms to have the "correct" setup.

your good...[hopefully i'm not speaking out of my ass here] but i heard if you're running a single 8 ohm cab then your head should be set at 8 ohms, by having it set at 4 ohms is quite it down a little[?].

basic rule: amp ohmage must be equal to or less than cab ohmage.
i.e. amp 8, cab 8
or.. amp 4, cab 8

OK good, I was really freaking out... I didn't want to have to send something back. In the manual it said it could over heat, but I'd imagine that is for extended periods of time. Thanks to all who posted
