Floyd Rose Speedloader Trems
Hey people, i thought i'd say a quick few things about the speedloaders. They are really good, i was really sceptical at first, when one came fitted on my ironbird. But after messing around with it, its an awesome piece of technology. It literally takes two seconds to change strings and whilst your doing this you can block the trem using the in built trem stopper. Its so good and so far hasnt really gone out of tune, even after plenty trem abuse.
Has anyone else used one/uses one?

hmm, they do definatly sound practical and good, call me old fashioned, but i do like having machine heads on my guitar. also the fact that you have to buy different strings woul get on my nerves

We call those "fixed" bridges, or simple trem. The one's with the machine heads. Thats cool, but, there is no sence in calling you old fashioned, just ignorant. And i can see how asking for a different type of string can get annoying...wait...no, why would that be annoying?
I have used the speed loading trem, it is very convienent. I find that it doesnt stay in tune as well as the regular OFR, but, it is still very good.

??? how am i ignorant? i expressed my exact opinion, didnt flame anyone elses and i didnt even mention fixed bridges...
if you didnt understand what i posted then what i meant was that i would choose a normal floyd over a speedloader because it means you can have tuners on your headstock, which i find more aestheticaly pleasing, also not all guitar shops stock the speedloader strings (my local one doesnt.)

Cool to see they work pretty good, I thought they were gonna be crummy trems. Kinda made the idea of getting a speedloader Ironbird more appealing to me, but... I shouldn't get more gtrs right now. I already have a black NJ Ironbird with an OFR and I'm loving it as it is.
And I agree, the tuners make up part of the look of the guitar, plus tuning with regular tuners just has some kind of magical feel in it.
It would be annoying because you can't use your preferred brand and gauge of strings you want, you'd have to conform to whatever Speedloader strings are available(now I know there are many speedloader gauges but some people are picky with their strings such as myself. I can tell a huge difference from brand to brand even with the same gauge.). Plus the strings are quite a bit more expensive because of their design.

Ignorant:
lacking knowledge or information as to a particular subject or fact
Didn't mean for it to come off so harshly. Nevertheless, i dont know what you mean by "normal" floyd rose. I wouldnt spend money on one of thier non-locking trem bridges if that's what you mean. But yeah you can use the machine heads, but on an OFR, (official floyd rose), its more likely for you to only use them when changing strings, or if you drop tuning often.

I'm gonna get one of those trem stops for my hamer with an original floyd. That's a sweet idea right there.

Eh I don't think they're made for OFRs man. What you could get is a tremol-no. Much more ideal solution + more flexibility.

I couldn't understand why the head stocks of these guitars were not just cut off. Speed loader=Steinberg.

Well the extra headstock mass = more sustain technically. But if they ever cut off the headstocks on these guitars I'd be 100% certain I'd never buy one.
