A Performance Mic Question

I am curious if anyone has any good suggestions on a GREAT performance mic.

I need something that is rugged, picks up sound great, but also, if possible, eliminates feedback. I have a mic right now that is tough, and picks up sound real good, but it feeds back so god damn much.

I need something that can pick up screeching highs, and growling lows in the same second....

Anyone have any suggestions?

The first step to eliminate feedback is to make absolutely sure the mic isn't pointing at the PA speaker. The second step is to make sure you're not pushing it so hard it picks up the PA output anyway. How is your rehearsal room set up? You might have the PA speakers placed in such a way that it feedbacks that much easier, and thankfully placement is one of the easier things to fix.
He's gotta be talking about vocals, his name is "HatebombVoks".

I am definitely talking about vocals.

Thanks for the info...

I will try and move the amp around.... It might be hard to position it so its not facing the mic...unless I face the band I guess... because our practice space is so small...a basement...

It mainly feeds back when I hit the screeching highs. I have noticed that when I put my hand on the actual screen, it will feedback almost every time... Move my hand off, feedback stops... it is a pain because when you get into screaming, it is almost natural to grab the mic like that.

Does anyone have any recommendations for a great vocal mic?
