Field Dreams
rewrite of an old piece. I tightened this one up and changed it a bit. It might be in the archives with the same title. I didn't check. I know I was listening to Eva Cassidy's "Fields of Gold" when I wrote it before.
"Field Dreams"
When I'm in deep imagination,
Eyes closing in sublimity,
Mind becoming entwined
With your fantasies of golden fields,
I can almost picture your eyes moonlit,
The color of the morning sky,
Reading my mind as we stand
In amber glow.
My hair softly brushing my waist
As gentle breezes blow.
My thoughts calmed by your shoulder.
Arms about me.
Your heartbeat against mine.
Lips sure of each taste
About my neck and shoulders.
Gentleness, as your hands
Meet the skin of my spine-
Sending rushes to my buried soul.
Air thinnng as starry altitude I climb.
Trying to catch my breath
Before I fall.
Lost, enraptured in you.
World ceasing to turn.
Ceasing existence.
Only we.
Only we......
