there are tons of stupid little shitty projects who use it. they pretty much all suck though, youd be better off trying it for yourself instead of looking to anyone else.

ehl oh ehl
Nah, I don't have their names memorized.
Although I think Ganglia and Gigantic Brain use FL but I'm probably way wrong.
If Gigantic Brain do, then he's the only one who hasn't sucked at it.

It sucks. There's not grind, just little attempts at trying to be funny and the fucking porn thing has been played out so many times.

I've tried it, but I hate it. Real drums kick the shit out of FL and good drum machines anyway.

Yes. But what if you can't find a real drummer to do your bidding?

Do you not have an abundance of drummers who can play 16th note blast beats at 999bpm where you live?

I just hate the sound. Some people prefer it and actually a lot of studios use V-drums now because they are easier to record with than acoustic drums.
There is nothing I do with fake drums that can't be done with real drums. I just use them because I write a lot of stuff at night and I do a lot of it on the computer.

I use FL mainly coz I can't be fucked finding a drummer. It does the job. If you use FL, avoid doing that 666bpm shit simply because you can

lmao
only decent drum machine ive ever heard is DKFH superior
and I swear to god that shit is the most real (drum machine) ive ever heard; kicks the shit out of DKFH2.
FL is just retarded though. If youre going that way, use a different program, one that isnt retard backwards when it comes to changing time signature or something like that. God I hated that program.

I thought this thread was gonna be about Florida based grindcore, in which case I would've suggested Assück I think.
Yes fruity loops is pretty easy to make decent metal drum loops with it. There is an extremely good tutorial for it at the decrepit birth forum. Go there and search for fruity loops their, a guy called f0rbidden made it. I don't know the link I just saved the guy's site to my PC so go find it.
Edit: Here it is:
http://www.cjmmachinery.com/FL/index.html
It helped me assloads.

I saw that tutorial. Its useful, but theres much better programs that are actually intuitive when it comes to things like that.

Fruity Loops is mad easy for tempo and time signature changes unless you play fucking bebop jazz. Beatcraft is pretty hard to use IMO and I never learned to use leafDrums which is supposed to be intuitive, but I never got it.
I have EZDrummer VST now with the DKFH addon and I can safely say it's the best drum machine software next to DKFHS, except it's not 30gb in size. Fruity Loops is great for just making scratch drum tracks cuz it's a bit faster than doing shit with dkfh within cubase. Plus you can make midi sequences with it too I think, then import it into EZdrummer with DKFH making ur life a whole lot easier, or just use one of its thousands of midi presents.

I know that you can put it 3/4 or 7/8, etc. in the actual pattern, but it will leave a space in the song.

What version do you have?
In one of my songs I switch time signatures, 1 bar each 4/4, 3/8, 3/4, 2/4, 4/4, 3/4, 3/8, 4/4 without a hitch. I've even got it to do 5/16

Maybe, it's because I have version 4.1.2. and have just been too poor to update it then.

Dude, I have version 4 too. At the top left-hand corner of the step sequencer, there's a thing like this <--> with a little box next to it. Right click your mouse whilst it is over this box. Keep the button pressed down as you move the mouse upwards. BAM!

Oh, i know that. You can change the pattern of a sequence, however, when I place that pattern into the "Song" portion it will leave a little gap that plays nothing but silence until the next beat starts.

You can take care of it with looking a little closer into the help manual and what not and overlapping the blocks. I'm sorry I can't be more help, I only use 4x4 or some variation of it.

Ahhhhhh, I found out how in the "Project General Settings" menu. If you put it in "1/1" then you can really use any time sig available.
Thanks.
