Songs with tapping
I'm not talking about Van Halen tapping, or solos. I mean like, stuff you see in tech metal. You know in hammer smashed face (cannibal corpse), the chorus has that tapping part, I love the sound of it. So do you guys know any kickass songs with that type of tapping?

to name a few. THOSE, are fun tapping parts. Dying Fetus have a few as well, though Praise the Lord comes to mind.
I cant remember much else as these are all only from experience and I dont really play too much.

Not a fan of death but downloaded those songs anyway..one of the first times i've ever heard/paid attention to that tapping style and it sounds good really spices up those songs.

It's in the chorus at 0:46. Yes, that's tapping. But it's on the larger strings instead of the doinker ones, lol.

Really awesome tapping is present in Spawn Of Possession songs. Check out 'A Prescence Inexplicable' - has tapping in riffs and also two slower tapping solos, gets a great sound when I play them with my neck and bridge coils split. Awesome song and band, check it. |

Perhaps he is talking about left hand tapping only. In that case it would be a hammer on leading into a pull off.

Like, em, Bar 4 (Guitar 2) of Stabwound has a single tapped note.
Some Martyr songs are likely to use a spot of tapping.
Sikth use a ton of it.
And of course, Behold... The Arctopus!  And PsyOpus too...
I think that was possibly thing Cynic missed out on Focus. I don't hear too much in Spiral Architect, although that final riff in Spinning sounds tapped.
A lot of my songs use the tapping you describe also. |
