Reverb/Delay!
I just bought a mesa stilleto, i'm enjoying it, took a twee bit of tweeking, but i got the sound i like. Only problem i have with it is the lack of reverb. I have this shitty digitech rj150, the delay/reverb sounds like someone is throwing sand at an amp (if anyone owns this pedal, they'd understand what i mean), so does anyone have an opinion on reverb/delay pedals? Thats all i want, not a huge effects processor, or people that say "get a new amp with reverb," just want opinons on reverb pedals.

The cheapest reverb pedal that I know of is the DigiTech DigiVerb X-Series Digital Reverb Pedal, which goes for $100, every other reverb pedal that I know of (Electo Harmonix Holy Grail, etc.) can be anywhere from that to $200 to $350. As far as delay goes, if all you want is the best straight delay, I'd go with the Boss DD3 Digital Delay, which is like $120. Otherwise you should get a Line 6 Echo Park if you want additional delay styles like analog, ping-pong, stereo, multi-head, etc. Musician's Friend is selling them at like $109 now.

delays are verbs (and tremolos sometimes, i personally prefer SS trems) are basically meant to do the effect WITHOUT colouring your sound, so digital effects are best in this area... if it were distortions or modulation or anything that is meant to chnage the sound, i'd go with solid state stuff.
Some people think differently because digital stuff does kinda change your tone into a less organic sound... but it all depends on taste. Personally, if i could afford a colorless analog delay (350-800$ in most cases), i would have it, but i'm not a clean hifi tone junky, and distortion covers up the digital pedals anyway.
I have a DD6 and i love it to death, the problem is its effing expensive, and has stuff that you might never use. DD3 will be perfect, it has everything you need; because honestly, i dont ever know when i'll use reverse delay or 2 instruments input into the same pedal.
For reverb, i have NO idea... i want one though... i like the effect of spring reverb and all the cool things you can do by hitting it or stomping your feet... does anybody know if you get a real analogue spring reverb outside of an amp --> like in a stompbox or something?

danelectro kpring king spring reverb. about $150 new. maybe a lil under $100 used... my favorite reverb pedal by far. it's a real spring reverb tank, and even has a splash/kick pad on it.

Wow that looks pretty cool. Nothing I'd use though(the kick pad).
If I wanted reverb for consistend use I'd get an old Peavey Valveverb, 1 rack space TUBE analog reverb(and tremolo too I think). Very sought after.
But for just leads, my Boss DD-3 Delay is the only pedal I'll ever really need. It really is amazing.
