Ampeg VH-140C 2x12 Combo???
Just another questions guys and I am hoping for some quick replies.
Is the Ampeg VH-140C 2x12 Combo the same "exact" as the plain head? basicly would I get the "same sound?
If I hooked the combo up to a 4x12 cab would I get the SAME sound as if I was playing with just the head and a 4x12 cab?

In theory yes, its identical circuitry. Obviously the combo on its own would sound different, as its an open-backed shell. Whatever speakers you decided to play it through make a big difference tonally`too. The combo is still an awesome amp.

Cool....If I can not get the head version I was looking at the combo version.
What is a fair price for the combo version? Anyone know?

Almost anything under 500$, under 400$ if not in pristine condition.

I wouldn't pay more than $400 for a fairly mint one, they don't carry the premuim of the heads. You can always hook it up to a 2x12 cab which would still give you a very powerful sound.

The heads are less common and generally a tad more expensive.

What would you say is a fair price for just the Head?
I have been getting some very wide ranges in quotes.

The cheapest one I've seen is the one I was talking about in the other thread that someone bought out for $350. I haven't seen any of the heads go for more than $550-ish.
