death metal distorsion
i would like to know what king of effects i need to have a real death metal sound out of my guitar.I have an Ibanez JS 100 and an Ibanez Thrash Metal Sound Tank distorsion pedal.What more should I add?

amp EQ settings, reverb and compression do nicely 
go on the gear forum, theres a full thread about it, i put in some EQ settings

Yeah man the DOD is bad ass. You can also get thig set off of www.musiciansfriend.com from darelectro, but I have never tried it, its likr 90 bucks and it has I think 5 or 6 pedals and its all for metal.

Yeah I saw that Danelectro metal pedal kit thing before I bought mine. They look pretty cheap and the fact that their pedals cost 20-40 dollars a piece kind of turned me off of them. Who knows they might work for a good 8 seconds before they burst into flames and catch you on fire. But i'll never know.

The dod death metal distortion was one of the worst pedals I've used. It might
sound good through solid state. I'm a big dod fan though. I have a dod-metal-x
& it kicks butt. The digitech metal morph is a good pedal, you can make it sound
like almost anything.

Well I odnt know about that darelectro metal set, but I know those little things like the big cheese things suck ass they sound horrible and they r really chEAP, thsts why they only cost about 20-40 bucks

What kind of delay pedal is the best? I am barrowing a BOSS Delay Pedal from this gurls dad that i know and I dont care much for it, so what would you guys perfer?

when I went and looked at delay pedals I played a DOD which in all honestly wasn't that bad at all.. and i'm not a big DOD fan.. and I also played the DD-3 and DD-5 Boss pedals..I ended up buying the DD-3 and taking it back and getting the DD-5.. it has more options.. but I honestly thought the delay was better on the DD-5 than the 3.. I just couldn't get the 3 to sound like what I wanted it to.. and the 5 I got right away.. plus it has reverse which I thought might come in handy at some point in time.. But I hate ibanez pedals with a passion.. they don't sound that bad.. but I destroyed one in no time.. I love my Boss pedals.. they might not be the best pedals.. but they are fucking durable as hell.. I can't stress that enough.. But I would really love to give some Electro Harmonix pedals a go.. from what i've heard they have excellent sound..

The DD3 is the one that I'm borrowing, and I dont like it. I dont like the way it delays it pauses instead of like fading and dong the note or whatever again, it has a quick pause. Ill try that DD5 out the next time I go to "Guitar Center." Thanks Alot for the tips man.

If you want badass metal tone and already have a distortion pedal i would suggest a 7 band EQ. If you cut the midrange of any distortion pedal it will sound much better, and way more brutal. MXR makes a really good equalizer, as does DOD. As for delays, Korg has really good delay effects and reverbs. I have a Korg multi effects unit and it has alot of delay and ambience effects to choose from.

The best distortion pedal I have used is the Danelectro Fab Tone. It's not one of those cheap piece of shit mini pedals they have. It's full size. I think they run about $80-$100. I think it blows the DOD Death Metal pedal out of the fucking water.

I know that the traditional metal tone is turning up your highs and lows up all the way, but remember guys...that's all great for playing in the room and jammin' by yourself and shit, but playing live you need a good bit of mids in there to cut through the drummer.

i know at my guitar center they have a whole section, just full of pedals so you can compare better. Better then at my sam ash (another music store) where everythings scattered around so you end up going through a huge hassle just to try out peddles. But go to guitar center, and try out the MT-2 boss. See if you can get that to sound like what you want. Then try out the DOD death metal, i hear it is actually pretty good. But try em out, see what is best for you.

DOD Death Metal makes my guitar sound like a fart!!!!
If u want death Metal sound, use an Octave Pedal
it brings those low end sounds......
Also Use the treble Feature on your wah pedal and distortion
in the same time
