bc rich necks
how do the necks of bcr models that are explicitly metal oriented (warlock, beast, etc) comapre to more traditional models like the mockingbird? i have a beast and i love the feel and sound, but the body is a pain and ugly ... i'd like to swap it for a bich or mock but there are none for retail around here to compare.

The 70's mockingbirds, bich's and eagles and stuff are more les paul oriented, bigger necks, not super thin like a lot of the 80's BCR's.
Why not just sell the beast and get a neckthru NJ Mockingbird? Sweet guitar that runs about 400$.

i was considering it, but the thing is i want the same feel ... i can't stand fat necks! it's gotta be really similar, or else i'll stick with the beast. wdyt? there are no dealers anywhere near me, and i dont know anyone whos got one. the reviews i've read don't really offer a comparison.

They're not Gibson fat, but they're nothing like Ibanez necks either.
The regular bolt on NJ series Mockingbirds have the same specs as your beast. The neckthru NJ classic birds try to imitate the feel of the 70's Mockingbirds supposedly, they're a tiny bit fatter but not enough to hamper anyone's playing.

hmm, i would try to swap the body if you like the neck to much, i cant play any other necks than my jackson and ibanez as theyre super thin and have exactly the right curve for me, neck choice is extremely personal

Or like I said just buy a NJ Mockingbird from the same year/era as you're beast. The neck will be exactly the same save for the headstock. Mockingbird bodies are not easy to come across.

its a neck-thru + the headstock is the horned widow style yech.
soeru do u know how the neck on the nj 'classic' model bich's is?
im leaning more towards that than the mock. i like the finish on the classic series models, just worried about the necks.

Yeah I told you earlier didn't I? It's great, the fretjob is awesome too, it's a great guitar. It's just not Ibanez RG thin that's all. But it's not a bulky ass Schecter or 50's LP either.
