Need some advice on Necro!
Hey, I am new here.
Just want a little advice... I want to begin learning some necrophagist songs...
I am having quite a bit of trouble... I just cant seem to get the speed right, obviously ill be able to get it, within alot of time... and I mean alot of time.
I was told Foul Body Autopsy is one of the easier songs by necrophagist, but... its pretty hard to me... I just cant keep up with the speed!
I dont know whether I should give up on necrophagist for now, and practice some scales or similiar 'bands/songs' to necrophagist which aren't as hard.
So basically I am asking for some advice, if I should stop wasting like 2 hours to get 4 bars of a necrophagist song perfectly and practice some less 'technical' stuff first.
Also advice on easy-ish necrophagist songs to start off with.
Thanks!

I think you probably answered your own questions there.
Either practise other stuff first for ages to get up to similar speeds with similar styles, or practise Necrophagist riffs for ages to get them up to speed.
One of those ways might mean you end up always sounding like Necrophagist when it comes to writing your own stuff though. Is that ultimately your goal?

Yeah thats my goal. Well I am pretty close to that goal, my stuff is very similiar, obviously not as technical.
Sometimes I just wonder if I am learning to play Necro a fast way by practicing there riffs constantly.. Seems long to me.. I just dont really know how fast other people learn it.. I just see comments like on youtube 'I learnt Foul Body Autopsy in just over an hour by ear'... its like..err.. lieing or how?

never believe people that post shit on youtube, their mostly all losers, and they have to make up shitty stories to seem better than other.
just keep practicing, speed isnt the first priority, learn to play it nice and clean,. then work on speed, theres to many people that can play necrophagist along the cd, but once you turn that cd off it sounds like shit cuz they never learned to play it properly, they just rush to egt the speed down and forget to make is sound good. depends what you think is more important ofcuz.

I have been learning Necrophagist lately and i have found using powertab and just slowing the tempo down till I can play along with it at half the speed and then sowly work my way up to the full tempo.

I did this with guitar pro. I gradually got foul body autopsy up to speed, except solo. It took me over two months. You just have to stick with it.
Extreme unction is an easier necrophagist song.

Yeah, Necrophagist is tough stuff to play. Foul Body Autopsy is always referred to as the easiest song, probably because it is quite repetitive and easy to learn, but I think there are easier tunes to try. As people have already mentioned, the beginning of Extreme Unction and The Stillborn One are worth taking a look at. Some parts to Only Ash Remains (the official tab written by Muhammed is out there) are easy to pick up, and of course the outro to Diminished To Be has to be the easiest riff off Epitaph.
Other riffs..
To Breathe In A Casket (0:28-1:04), (2:05-2:20)
Ignominious and Pale (0:49-1:40), (riff under solo, after solo)

Took me ages to get this track down as well, I started off with the powertab of it and played it really slowly until I could go through it without a mistake, then I sped it up, did it again, sped it up etc... That's the best way, takes a long time but gets you there!

Like I said, it took me over two months, but it depends how good you are to start with, and how quickly you improve. People impove at different rates. I was pretty shit so it took a long time.

Yes, pretty much every day. I could play it at 3/4 speed after a few days but it took a long time to get it up to full speed, but as I say, my playing was nothing more than mediocre at best at the time, and I don't progress quickly at guitar. I actually managed to increase the speed to 125bpm (or 250 depending on what time sig your thinking in), I think the song on CD is 120.
