vocal warm ups ...

Hey how's it goin, been singing for a like 5 years seriously (nirvana/thrice/incubus/linkin park/finch/blindside style of music) and always been singing to songs ever since I was an ignorant innocent teenager, ehehhe.

Anyways, I was interested to know what kind of stuff you do to warm up your voice and how long you practice every day (is everyday excessive?)

I hum for like 10 min going all over the place, every range, not too long coz I was told that really fux up your vocal chord (iz that true?)
and then I usual sing to songs for like 20-30 min using MO/MA/FOO/MI/FA to pronounce all the words, is this ok to do then I gradually sing with the proper words.

Does this sound like I'm doing it the right way?

Also my last question is, is it possible to strenghthen the high range, like the range I can't really reach coz it's soo high?

Let me know what you vocalist think.

peace/
