Hmm, didnt a pretty good band already do that album? If they cant write an ablum, they shouldnt record one. They might do a damn good job, but it wont be Number of the Beast. I really gotta say that I'm NOT a fan of covering an entire album and releasing it. Seems kinda... derivative, unoriginal, and stupid.

Personally, I don't remember it ever being done before. It's not the most original thing in the world, but I'd love to hear their take on a fucking sweet album. They are Dream Theater after all, I can't imagine they'd bugger it up.

their cover of Master of Puppets is bad-ass. imo, they play it better than metallica. the guitarist is obviously better, the riffs and solos sound cleaner and more accurate

I'm in agreement here with mr. 88. I really don't care how great Petrucci is at playing his little geetar, fact remains is he doesn't have and never will have the charisma that Hetfield has. Same with DT's vocalist pulling off an album's worth of Dickinson, I could sit through a cover song but couldn't weather an entire album of that cheesedick singing what Dickinson can do a million times better. Maybe they use other's material because they know their own is a bunch of masturbatory bullshit that is only a testimony of their skill and not their ability to write a good song.
Only thing worse than any of this would be Malmsteen doing it.
