for a beginner
Which is me. I was wondering if anyone could help me out with a guitar (my first one). What would be a nice, simple/cheap guitar to start out with?
I actually have an acoustic one, and I've practicing on it for a while now, and now I want an electric one, but don't really know what to look for. Any help is appreciated. Thanx.

The best advice I (or anyone) can give you is to find the nearest guitar shop and try out everything you can get your hands on in your price range. Then if you want to save a bit of cash, write down the brand/model of the guitar and look for it on ebay.
One word of advice, avoid the bc rich bronze series. Look cool, but lack in quality.

yea, i would say the same..go to the nearest store and fart aroun with guitars in your price range. if you have questions, ask an employee..they should be able to handle all the basics. whatever feels good is good. also, check out this thread: http://metaltabs.com/forum/showthread.php?t=24768
don't forget to check stickied threads or use the search function..most questions have already been gone over numerous times.

also look at yourself and figure out how long you intend on playing guitar... just trying it out to see how you like it? Or are you committed to making this a lifelong thing? If you are just testing the waters, go cheap and spend around 200 bucks. if you have the money, and are sure you are going to be playing guitar 3 years from now, maybe think about investing more money.
when you are messing around in the guitar shop, make sure to ask questions to all the other guys and gals shopping around in there. cause salesmen will give you advice based on what products they need to sell, what their quotas are, or maybe they get a better commission if they sell Marshall products, or something weird like that. Your fellow customers are a good source of unbiased information.

+1 for asking other customers. Don't forget about the used market though. If you buy new and end up not liking guitar, you'll take a big depreciation hit when you sell it off. When buying used, you let the seller take the hit; and, you'll take even less of one (if any) when you sell.
