I think progressive is an un-needed genre.
By saying progressive you either mean Insane musicianship or/and time structures (technical) incorporation of different styles (fusion) something that the majority of people will find different or use un-metally instruments (Experimental).
I don't see a need for the progressive tag.

I've had to sit through 2 of their sets so far and each time I got so bored to the point that it felt like I was trapped in a 2' x 2' cell for 5 days straight.
Their riffs are generic, plain, and boring.
