New to Bass.
Hello all,
I've been playing guitar for about 6 years. I recently picked up a bass and decided to learn that. What are a few bands i should listen to, to get a better idea of what the bass can/should do other than root notes.

The Police/Sting! ...His basslines are great, and some of them are rather easy to play.

There are tons of great bassline's in sting/the police songs.. i actually play in a sting and the police tribute band, i love playing the songs, sting is such a great songwriter.. and the basslines arent too complex for beginners that want to learn them.
