It's recycled and reproduced old material that never made it on the early records. I dig most of it but I never though Fear Factory had anything special goin until Demanufacture, thats where they came into their own.
Concrete is cool to complete your collection with but I'd rather listen to Soul of a New Machine then that one.

you got that right, it's all old stuff, the cd is okay though.
but 'death metal FF???'
no man, it's industrial, even the older shit is pure industrial stuff, I love Digimortal and Obsolete!

it doesnt sound like industrial to me, considering there isnt any electronics used in concrete.....
Burton uses a deep death metal voice also, unlike digimortal, obsolete, etc.

I'm not tryin to bust up your fear factory thread man, I just didn't dig it. If I'm gonna listen to old Fear Factory, it'll be Soul of New Machine.
Burton never did the death vox well, he sings and screams alot better.

It's not really death metal is it?
somehow it's just doesn't really sound to death metal and yes, he should stick to the harmonic voice and the screams

they were pretty death sounding early on. they were kind of a death/industrial crossover band.

yeah, I guess you're right, but I just didn't qualify them as a true death metal band..
their newer stuff isn't that happening, I think they wanted to be on MTV or something.
I saw them once in holland, they've got a nice live show, about half a year before they called it quits. they played lots of songs of the obsolete album.
