I was wondering how i can get some really dramtic tapping sounds...dark if you will.

i mix minor with diminished... and if i fuck around i also add in some harmonic minor... it gets kinda bluesy sounding though when you mix all 3 at once though.

I would stay away from all cliche EVH-style tapping for a start.

Go for inversions of minor triads, and like everyone else has said try some diminished. Harmonic minor sounds sweet as fuck tapped. Another cool thing to do that's also symmetrical on the fretboard and goes well for tapping is the whole-tone scale, especially on the 3rd and 2nd strings. The order of the notes you tap has alot to do with making something sound cool and not that done-to-death EVH style tapping that everyone knows. If you can sweep, mix it up with tapping, like do a Em arpeggio and then tap something in a Em harmonic minor vein down to the 12 fret on the high E string and finish the arpeggio descending.
