i dunno man, family guy made me laugh REALLY hard. i'd say it's as good as the Simpsons back in the middle of their career (like after season 3). it was definitely better than the newer simpsons episodes.

i don't think it was a ripoff but i do think the styles of the shows were similar.

family guy was more ballsy, they weren't afraid of showing certain stuff, saying certain things, and of ripping on anyone. It was a very clever show, even though it had a lot of low brow stuff in it (which you don't see a lot of in the simpsons). it was also more cartoonish and nonsensical.

i wish it didn't get canceled.
