My friend burned me a copy... as always, it's wicked technical and stays true to all their great trademark ingredients: Dual vocal attack, leans heavily towards grind, sweep riffs out the cut, and monster breakdowns. Its production is really good and I love their distortion. Overall, I'm really enjoying it. Although, only if I am to really nit pick, something about it just seems a tiny bit blah, like they left something out... like, if you listen to Stop At Nothing then listen to this, it's (I'm afraid to say) a bit mediocre. Nonetheless, with War Of Attrition, they have proved yet again that they truly have a well-defined separate identity that they don't need to and shouldn't change.

Dying Fetus must love that people have the album a month before it comes out. My cousin has it actually and from what he says it's killer. I like pretty much any Dying Fetus so I'm sure I'll love it.

I hate Dying Fetus. They were a waste of time on the CC/Necrophagist tour. I'll probably be in the minority here at Metaltabs, but I personally dislike this band greatly.

embarassingly Ive only heard a tab of one of the new songs, but from even that, Im going to get this when its out. Seemed cool, and so what if it "sounds like dying fetus"? theres a reason for that.
Mind, hopefully its a little less sterile than Stop at Nothing

I want the same old shit, and that tends to be what you get with Dying Fetus. Should be good.

I was never too thrilled with Dying Fetus myself either to be honest, I never knew what was so great about them. I've always been to busy with Suffo, Immolation, and Gorguts but never gave them much attention.

One of the things I love about Fetus, is their combination of super-tech with the breakdowns. It makes them very playable when you're having a party and shit. Plus, the sweeps are fucking awesome.

Yeah, that would kindof suck. How do you really explain that? Funny, but then it's not.

Yeah...that is the later model, which is the same as yours (early model) but flipped upside down in a different chassis.

The Parasite track is fucking NICE! And the Repression one as well.
This totally blows gay ass Stop At Nothing to dust.

I've always enjoyed Dying Fetus and I was wondering if they disbanded since I haven't heard anything about them. Unleash Vengance has always been my favorite song and I compare anything they do to it. So if it comes close, I'll enjoy it.
And is Sean (sp?) doing the screams now?

The new stuff sounds awesome, it is notably more technical than the last album but they lose some of the groove, they still have the dying fetus sound though.

I actually liked Stop at Nothing just fine, the only gripe I have with it is the bland production.

I found the new album very bland. It's like they slapped it together half assed. Artwork stank. A lot of the songs followed the same pattern. It's just the same predictible tech riffs over fast drumming. No real improvment at all from their past releases. The lyrics are a fucking joke as well. Like it's almost like they just tottally ran out of political topics to rant about so they are just rehashing the same crap over and over. It is a pretty lazy release over all.

When you can't tell what they are saying without a lyrics sheet it doesn't matter in my opinion.
I'm sure lots of people do care for some reason though.

You try really hard to be some anti-conformist rebel, don't you?
Then you reply with "I don't really care." Maybe even "I do what I want."

didtn like it much...the album has its moments but none too enjoyable as the wicked killing on adrenaline or destroy the opposition. the only track that i really like is parasites of catastrophe...raping the system & insidious repression are decent. rest is pretty flat. there were hues & cries online about duane timlin being a monster drummer and all that. he just seems so confused...breakdowns just dont sound so breakdowny to me. its like "when in doubt, play fast double bass". KEVIN TALLEY IS THE MAN!!!!!!
vocals also didnt do much...johnny boy is pretty predictable...thats not an issue to me but nothing caught me by surprise. and is it just me or does sean sound like jason? the tones are fuckin A and the riffs are typical dying fetus material \m/ but the drumming was a major letdown.
