Menno: The Netherlands have quite a reputation concerning powerful death metal. Our national scene has an impressive number of quality bands and every now and then a new formation spawns from the Dutch womb with reasonable material.

Erebus is one of the latter. The typical recipe of beer and an incestuous group of metalheads with a love for bashing music. At least, that's what Erebus sounds like to me. Quality death metal combining slower brutal parts with more furious grinding bits. The fundamental parts of Erebus' music are the fast drums and varying vocals of Ante Zoric and Kevin Quilligan (Toxocara). Not a technical highlight, but more than charming. The production is what you may expect from a garage band's (no insult) first demo; not bad, but definitely not too high-tech as well, especially the wall of guitars sounds a bit muddy here and there. Comparable Dutch bands are Deification, Putrefied and Prima Nocte. I wish them nothing but luck and I believe that a full-length is a reasonable goal!
