"Kindling"
Bundled head to toe against winter's silent surge
Kindling and hardwoods stacked near the hearth
Stomping feet and frosty eyebrows
Ready to call it a night
Peeling off a wooly cocoon
A layer at a time
Red nosed and blush cheeked
Snow sparkle stolen in your eyes
Attention turns to tending other things
Bark sizzling and a pop
Faking a startled fall
Into each others arms
Leaned against a fort-wall of pillows
China pot near the warming fire
Smells of cinnamon waft through the room
Mulled wine a warming touch
Winter scent crisp
As snow falls gently outside
Silence and dreamy smiles
Staring into the orange glow
Watching as travels it's random patterns
Snow sparkle melts into flame
As I turn to see your eyes
Snow gently falling outside
