Help with speaker choice

Hi there, I need suggestions for what speakers i should put in my ported 2x12"? I don't really know much about speakers, but the ones in there right now are Celestion G12T-75's, and they do good in bass department (a little "dry" if that makes sense), great in the low mid department, but the high mids and treble is harsh, shrill and piercing - and since they're only 75 watts they start distorting too soon for me.

I would like a speaker that has a very punchy bass without going boomy, overall medium bright/dark and not scooped in the mids like the 75's with smooth, rich mids and with a decent treble end that isn't piercing or grainy (i hate grainy).

I really like the cheapo celestion V12-60's that come in ENGLs cheapest cabs, but the wattage is too low, they would start braking at master vol. 3.
V30's are not my thing.. but by all means they're great with the right amp, esp. with 6L6 tubes, but i run KT77's which has some more high mids so they're not really made for each other..

So i was looking at eminence alternatives and guess what, soundclips are up. From the tone guide i can see what i would want would be either the Swamp Thang or the Texas Heats, and in the clips they are similar sounding but the Swamp Thang seems more dead, round and lifeless while the Texas Heats are more lively, punchy and jumpy, and this guy I know who has been real helpful all the time with constructing my speaker cab. and stuff like that says the Texas Heats would kick total ass in my cab for my music, and i hear the KranK cabs which have Heats in them also sound real good for that punchy tight bottom end and searing smooth mids. Swamp Thangs win on cleans, they're way warmer but that's not priority #1 for me (obviously) :-) On the heavy clip (too bad it's boomy bass-style) the Swamp Thangs sound more heavy stoner metal oriented while the Heats are tighter and punchier.. dunno.

Funny thing, the Texas Heats sound warmer and more full-bodied than the Swamp Thangs on the medium level overdrive clip.

Anyway I ramble too much, what i really want to know is if anyone know the Texas Heats and, do they kick ass, pack a lot of punch and do they have alot of clarity? I hate mud so i want to fight it

On that page there is a wicked video where they test the clean properties of 24 different eminences. When i watched it, my favs were probably the Texas Heat, Manowar, governor, Wizard, swamp thing and cannabis rex.

The texas heat is overall great, i was suprised that krank didnt cut the corners when they chose it. It has some punch, low end, and brightness.
I notice however, that the manowar and governor seem to be identical, but the manowar has every so slightly more sparkly highs, and the governor is ever so slightly warmer.

I foudn the eminence test page... im finding the cannabis rex to be a bit mid scooped...

I like. The Texas Heat sounded a little bit irritated and annoyed, while the Swamp hang was more sad and disappointed sounding if you know what i mean, but not super sad like the Lil Texas, hehe. I like Texas Heat alot..

My other guitar player has a cab full of Man-O-Wars, pretty sweet. I have a cab loaded with a mix of Man-0-Wars and Swamp Thangs, but I havent had much of a chance to test it since my Powerball is still being modded. Ive got some V30's and G12H30's that I am going to put in my 4x12 so I can compare it side by side with my guitarists Man-O-War cab. Ill have a full report after I do.

Well i talked to that buddy of mine who's pretty much solely responsible for Eminence import among the DIY'ers up here and he said the Swamp Thang sounded pretty fucking amazing (he even typed in caps on this one).

He says the Swamps have a bit more bottom than the Heats and are a bit more loose, but nowhere NEAR untight. The texas heat is a little "scooped" in comparison with a focus on a full, fat bottom and a relaxed high end, with his Fireball he runs mids at one o clock to get it the way he likes it with the Heats while the Swamp Thang sounds incredible with everything at noon. And believe me, his tone is fucking amazing.

Anyway i think i have decided to go with one Swamp Thang and one Texas heat, to get a little more crisp brightness from the Heat and a bit more bottom from the Swamp Thang :-) This is what he recommends since it's what he was recommended in a 4x12 so he says it won't be a bad idea in a 2x12 either. I figure the Swamp Thang will compensate for some of the lack of bass and depth in a 2x12 (ported, mind you - so the difference isn't that overwhelming) while the Heat will take care of any dullness/lack of brightness present in the Swamp Thang, hehe. In addition i can A/B them since i run stereo, and adjust the volume on each speaker to fit, so i can get the volume just right :-)

And I finally sold the T-75's,
