Tone Help
Ok I have a Line 6 Spyder III 120 Watt amp, and a Fender Stratocaster.
I am trying to get that weird digital sounding tone that a band such as Between the Buried and me has in most of their solos (example: Mordecai) There is a ton of other bands that have used this tone like Avenged Sevenfold in the Chapter Four solo.
The dials on my amp include: Drive, Bass, Mid, Treble, Reverb, Channel volume and Master Volume. Not to mention I have the Clean, Twang, Blues, Crunch, Metal, Insane amp presets.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

ditch your poop, get a peavey 6505, a delay, and a reverb, then come back and talk.
Otherwise, try metal green, add a touch of verb. Put drive to 2oclock, bass to 12:30, mids to 1 oclock, trebel to 3 oclock.
Fender pickups WILL NOT EVEN GET CLOSE, you'll need EMG's for any of that.

are you talking about the clean solo? or the distorted one? because the distorted one sounds like a krankenstein or a 6505 with a tubescreamer to smooth out the grit in the distortion.
The clean one is straight up clean from a krankenstein (6505 has no chance of getting that clean, especially with emg's) with some chorus added.

I have no idea what on earth you are talking about with "weird digital sounding tone" that BTBAM uses on the mordecai solo. I know that solo forwards and backwards. Its clearly just a warm clean, with reverb/delay and played on the neck pickup of an ibanez guitar.

I was talking about the clean solo... the only way I could describe it was having a weird digital tone that a lot of metal solos have.
Should I stick with saving for a Schecter or is there a better guitar for around the same price I should look at?

dude, its just clean guitar with chorus ontop of it. Go out and play a chorus pedal in a music store, you'll figure it out.

Do you think putting EMG's on this stratocaster would be pointless?

it would ruin the point of it being a strat though. Fender Strats are meant to have fender hb's, and have that resonant, warm, twangy fender tone. Just get the schecter.... fender strats have tone chambers in them so an EMG wont exactly sound great in it.

So was I. There was nothing weird, nor digital about it ha. Hence why i said warm CLEAN, and the neck pickup of an ibanez guitar. (because thats what they play). I cna't remember what kind of amps they play though. Been awhile since i saw em last. And i think everybody was using everybodys gear too.

there was a point where one of the guitarists used a rickenbacker, but he was kicked out for playing a rickenbacker

No it wouldn't. Have you heard of David Gilmour? He has them, and he doesn't compromise any of the Strat tone at all. People also don't realize that some people like the certain sound of a pickup, but then also like the certain looks and feel of a specific guitar.
