I am playing through a crate gt1200 half stack an whenever I turn it up to a high volume it sounds really bad any suggestions?

Could be a couple things.
I know that amp's bass is incredibly muddy, and with too much reverb, it will sound bad. But how do you mean bad? like...it is fuzzy? tone isnt what you want? there is a rattling? sounds like something blew up? A tad more insight would be nice.
But, i do know that if you crank a mid/low-end SS amp like that too much, it will not sound very nice.
Oh, and, if you are at the solo setting, dont crank the shape knob up either.

It's not really a specific problem you're having.....that amp just sucks, I remember I had one. It certainly doesn't do so well at high or really low vol.
