what are your favorite cartoons and/or animated shows?
this topic was inspired by walpurgis's query about the one cat in the Smurfs
so i like:
The Simpsons (my absolute favorite)
King of The Hill
Family Guy
Futurama
Arthur (they actually have some smart jokes in there, even though it's a kid's show)
Recess
Spongebob Squarepants
Pinky and The Brain
Animaniacs
Spiderman
Batman/Superman
Batman Beyond (this show is supposedly for kids, but it has heavy mature subjects and stuff in there like drugs, gangs, people enduring lots of pain, drugs, greed, revenge, sex, mostly drugs)
and the one that will always brings back fond childhood memories:
The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.
the first two ones in my list i watch everyday, the others i watch sparingly, whenever i get a chance to see them, which is not often.

Dexter's Laboratory (this show rules!!!)
Dragon Ball Z (the action rules!)
Rocko's modern life
Ren and Stimpy
Family Guy (brilliant!)
Batman (early 90's series, with the adult, not some kid)
Batman Beyond (not as good as above)
I'd say that's about it for my favorites. Dexter's Lab is probably tied for first with Simpsons......i hardly see it anymore though cause i'm not sure when it's on. 
The rest are just the better ones out of every cartoon out there, to me.

Well I haven't got anything new to add except maybe for X-men. Fuck I loved that show when I was a grommet, especially when they started going out into space and Jean became Phoenix. Heh, Wolverine is my idol. Used to love the ninja turtles as well, oh and the Transformers and He-man and Silverhawks and Thunder cats! Now I have more refined taste:

I'd say one of my all time favorite anime movies is Neon Genesis Evangelion.......holy shit that movie is fucked up.......the storyline and everything screws with your brain so much......but it's so cool!! i couldn't stop watching it!

Yeah but some of them play with your mind......like NGE.....i wouldn't even classify that as a cartoon cause of how much thought was put into it........this would put about 90% of today's movies to shame.......NGE is just brilliant.....no other word for it.

Well i just finished watching the ending movie to NGE is it's so fucked up.........that whole series plays around with the meaning of life and the existence of humans and everything. It's not just some dumb dragonball z type show (although i love DBZ). If you look at how complex all the thought and ideas put into NGE, it probably applies to people 15 or 16 and over......probably closer to 18+.

I watched Beavis And Butthead, before it became dull.
I also watched The Simpsons when Hungarian TV did play it.
Sometimes I watch South Park, but the bad thing about it - it's around midnight, and about that time I'm partying or I'm sleeping...

another good one is "The Ripping Friends", it's new. it's weird as hell, and it's cool as hell. (saturday morning on Fox at 11:00 Est in the morning)
and also Buzz Lightyear-Space Ranger. it's really intelligent. they have ripped on marketing (kinda like in Dilbert comics) and did a Stars Wars spoof.
