OK I know he's not metal but....
I was wondering how Doyle from The Misfits gets that monsterous guitar tone? Like what amp, pickups and pedals does he use?

Misfits have been around a long time. Do you have a time era in mind? Because i'm sure they probably started out with JCM 900s or something like that and move on.
Edit: I'm trying to look it up and i can't find shit haha.

I'm not sure if hes playing out of this amp, but looking at this random pic it looks like hes playing a Mesa.
I can't see the name but its got that diamond plate stuff on the front, and looks fairly big.

Well I love the old Misfits but the tone I speak of is off Famous Monsters I think he uses a Ducan pickup not sure. And he could use a Messa now not sure.

Doyle originally used bass amps back in the 80's, and as far as I know he continued to use them live until he quit. I believe he was/is using Demeter's TGA-2.1 amp, judging from their website (several pics of him from the recent guest spot on the Danzig tour). As for his guitars, he and his brother Jerry Only custom made their original guitars/basses. Doyle fabricated the body, and Moses Rand crafted the neck for him. He has always used Seymour Duncan Invaders in them as well. Currently, he is endorsed by Dean Markley (signature Misfits strings) and Coffin Case Blood Drive pedals. There is also a link to Mesa Boogie on his new band Gorgeous Frankenstein's website ... not sure what model he may be using however. Maybe that 'monsterous tone' you speak of simply comes from his 'monstrous' arms.

Awsome thanks for the info. A Coon Case Blood Drive pedal huh? Hmm I have to try that out. Never knew he used bass amps.
