Amps and Effects padals
I was just wondering what kind of effcts pedals, processors and amps you guys use, and who the manufactuer is.
I play Through:
Marshall JCM 2000 TSL 60 with a 4x12 cab
For my effects I have:
Boss DS-1 Distortion
Boss MT-2 Metal Zone
Boss CE-5 Chorus Ensemble
Boss RV -3 Digital Delay \ Reverb
Boss NS-2 Niose Surpresser
Every thing sounds pretty good depending on how I have them set up.
What do you Like?

Well since I am not such a rich person and my parents don't pay for a whole lot of my stuff it's pretty cheap.
I use a Hughes & Kettner Triplex amp. It has a built in overdrive with reverb, chorus and delay.
And I have T-Bone distortion i like it 'cause it's really heavy.

Thats cool. You have far more for your age than I did In my golden years.
But I'm not rich either. I work as a sales person in a department store. Everday, I wake up, get ready, and drive 45 minutes to work and back, and bust my ass for a bunch of inconsiderate assholes! Mommy and Daddy never bought me SHIT! I work for my money. And everything I own I payed for myself. Plus I've been building my collection for some time now. All my spare change go's to my guitar.
I was just curious what other people like that is all.
Peace!

hmm, wish I had a marshall. I play through a fender ultimate chorus combo amp and use a boss distortion pedal and a digitech delay.
You'd be surprised how brutal of a sound I can get through my fender amp. I hate fender guitars and their amps suck, but it will do till I can start saving for more audio equipment. Priorities go to drugs and my car.

Personaly I hate Fender myself, just because ther're Hippy guitars. But I was looking through your profile and I saw Obituary listed as one of your favorit bands. To whom it might intrest Trever Perez from Obituary plays Fender Strats exclusively. Different for a Deathmetal band don't you think?

I know I worked for everything I have. Only I work at a farm driving tractors and that kinda shit instead of at a department store. and my parents don't give me much of anything either. My work is actually pretty fun but i don't get paid that much for it anyway. About $4 an hour.
Oh yeah and I forgot to mention that my distortion is a Darelectro one.

i use a very, VERY old crappy Peavy 50 watt amp. and i got the Wayne's World edition Fender Squier that i bought from my friend for 50$ in perfect condition when he got his Gibson Les Paul. (lucky bastard) had a death metal distortion pedal but i don't like death metal distortion(too much feedback) my band is like a mix between deftones and other heavier elements so alot of feedback doesn't go well with our sound. sold that one.

Hey, same here!! My drive is only about 20 mins, though. Everything else I can relate to.
My equipment:
- 1962 Gibson J-45 acoustic (handed down to me by my father)
- Samick Strat copy
- BC Rich Bich (bought second hand, in mint shape, with new case, for $200)
- DOD FX7 multi-effects processor
- Korg Toneworks AX1 multi-effects processor
- Proel volume pedal
- Yamaha KS 50 amp (125 WATT)
I also had an Ibanez wah, a Crybaby wah and a Yamaha stereo chorus pedal, all of which I sold after getting the multi-effects processors.
And like INVERTED, my collection has been gradually built up (over 6 years for me). And almost everything I own I paid for with my hard-earned $$$$$

I forget half the shit I've used over the years. Now I only have a Marshall Valvestate 1100 or something... I can't remember... it's been busted for well over a year now. I haven't play through an amp since I tested my King-V's new pickups at a mate's place (Peavy 212 Special is what he uses... it's great). I only use my friend's stuff. Another friend has a Peavy 5150 with 2 speaker cabs... I get to borrow that here and there. Another friend has what I'm buying atm... POD by Line-6. It has great amp simulation and I can plug it straight into my computer to record.

Hmm, here's an idea. Get a god damn job. Sorry, I just hate it when people say it's partly or wholly their parents fault they don't have money. Work sucks, but life with money can be great.
I have two set ups forpractice and recording with guitar.
#1 A 50 watt marshall amp with an Ibanez guitar and a boss ME 33 guitar prossesor (this is a great prossesor, doesn't sound cheezy like all the others).
#2 A 50 watt marshall amp with an ESP explorer and a DOD Grunge pedal (don't get fooled by the name, this pedal is HEAVY).
I like the marshalls because they have a solid sound for me to build on and the amps, not the stacks, have alot of power. I don't like their heads, but their cabs are OK.

Just wondering.
for Bass I use;
-Boss EDB-3 Bass Distortion
-Boss CF-2 Bass Flanger
-Boss CS-2 Compressor/Sustainer
-Boss EQ-2 Bass Equalizer
-Crybaby bass wah
If I had heaps of money and was a pure guitarist I would use;
-Boss MT-2 Metalzone
-Boss MD-2 Mega Distortionh
-Morley 'bad horsie' wah
-Ibanez tonelok Seventh heaven
-Ibanez tonelok Smash box
-Ibanez tonelok LoFi
I somehow like the tonelok series, though Boss pedals are better for on the road use

i use a digitech rp2000, and thats it. i've also got a Boss AW-2 but i never use it.
i have to go get myself a new manual wah and a dedicated distortion pedal soon, because the band i was just recently in was a sweedish metal type of band (like in flames and shit) and i didn't need a full on distortion but needed lots of effects...now i'm making a brutal black metal band in like 6 months i need a killer distortion.

I simply use different Shreds... Marshalls and bosses generally...
It's silly to even think of making good music without shred...

I bought half of it used man.... Traded some with friends, guys from awesome bands that i'm sure youve heard of by the way. And EBAY! great deals going on there! I spend a good 3 hours a week hunting shit down on ebay. Some people are pricks and overcharge their shit, i compare the same unit againts a couple other and grab the better one. Another thing i often do is when the auctions over and the guy didnt sell it, I contact him and make an offer. 2 out of 3 times the dude goes for it.

it's been said a million times
the boss metalzone MT-2, it has a huge range and you can really fix diffrent kinda distortions on it.
a GT6 is also nice though

all this talk about the Metal Zone makes me sick. I used to use one way back when i played out of a litlle 15 watt crate amp. after that i got one of the Valvestates, couldn't get even close to a decent sound out of the pedal, so i used the amp distortion. got tired of that and now i use my VHT Pittbull. This produces distortion that I had only dreamed of having before. I tried the Metal Zone out on the VHT just for kicks... Terrible

I think that's your taste of distortion, the metalzone is the best sold guitar pedal that boss has got it their range now...
I know there are some (better) distortions out there like the 'RAT' pedal etc...
but hell, a mt2 is just cheap and pretty versatile, that's why many people like it.

You'd be surprised how brutal of a sound I can get through my fender amp. I hate fender guitars and their amps suck, but it will do till I can start saving for more audio equipment. Priorities go to drugs and my car.

Hmm, here's an idea. Get a god damn job. Sorry, I just hate it when people say it's partly or wholly their parents fault they don't have money. Work sucks, but life with money can be great.

I play a Parker p-38 with an emg 81 in the bridge (which i want to take out because when i bought the 81 i only heard people rave about them, turns out its very thin sounding.) I use a 120 watt 2x12 crate with the built in effects. I use a furman 31 band EQ and a BBE sonic maximizer through the effect loop to clarify and customize my sound. I use a Big Muff for distortion, and a JH-1 Crybaby wah.

Peace!

i have a Jackson RR-IT with an EMG 81 on the bridge and an 85 for the neck
and a B.C. Rich NJ series Warlock (i hate it) with an EMG 81 for the bridge (im gonna make this guitar decent with an 85 on the neck and an Original Floyd Rose bridge)
for the acoustic i have a beautiful koa Taylor from my dad and i have an Ibanez Preformance acoustic that i hate with a passion and i have a Martin Backpacker that i like to make fun of (it lookes like an ore)
for an amp i have a Marshall 10 watt amp that i use as a night stand and i have a 30 watt Crate amp for my acoustics and a Marshall AVT100 that i use all the time.
my pickups are EMG 81's and an 85 and i have a Sunrise on my Ibanez acoustic and a Fisherman in my Taylor...i dont know whats in the Martin
For effects i have a Boss Metalzone MT-2 and a Boss Chorus CE-3 and a Crybaby wah (i never use that)
and the picks i prefer are Dunlop Heavys
the strings i use are D'addario (sp?) or anything that is .009
im saving up at the moment for a Jackson Soloist 1
