I'll Dream With You
"I'll Dream With You"
You tell me you love me
Over and over again
When you smile
When you laugh
And when you cry
I do the same inside
Your whispers breathed like a cooing dove
My heart captures every word
Locks them inside for all time
I feel the rhythm change when our hearts are near
I can feel your eyes when you stare
Brush my eyelids with your lips
Feel my body rise
Hold me now
Hold me now
Even when I see you every day
Starvation overcomes me and you're the bread I need
I need to taste you
Beautiful as dew on a white rose
Passionate as it's wild climbing vines
Sweet fragrance emitting love
Restfully dreaming
Rest your head, love,
I'll dream with you

Pah what is this love crap? Girls are all about these kind of lyrics. Me? I just can't get into this style of writing. "Positive spins" put on relationships and love and what not.
I think most guys would agree, that if they did or had listened to any kind of "love" music it would be "negative spins" put on them. At least thats how i see it.

Check out the lyric to "Miracles" by Jefferson Starship. It's hot. Not all love songs need to be of rejection and devastation. A little heavier sound "Safe Home" by Anthrax could be seen positive, too.
I like to throw a piece like this on here once in awhile just to get input like you gave.
I bet you'd like it if I growled it.

That would sure be a treat. With breakdowns.

a decrease in tempo where everything starts to go into a slowmotion kinda
and yes growling would be excellent.

I wonder if I could sing like the guy in Type O Neg. At least the lyrics could be understood.
Thanks for that explanation. I can see that going on. Maybe even 2 different voices doing the first and latter parts. Interesting.

Yeah, or possibly a bit of shifting, like Opeth. Can't you all hear the first short verse in that growl, with full blast of everything plus dessert, and then the long part sung in a wierd scale and spooky clean guitars... and a long, fat resounding bass note at the end.
Oh yea... the sissy speaks, this was a perhaps not very original but otherwise good poem.

Just cause vocals may be "distorted" doesn't mean you can't understand them, sometimes it just takes listening to that kind of music for awhile. To the average person whos never spent time listening to "raspy like vocals" i'm sure its impossible.
Regular death metal though.... i still can't, granted i don't listen to it very often but even reading lyrics along with it i'm like what? Especialy between the buried and me, i just assume that that is what they're saying.

Do I detect a hint of sarcasm, Amadeus? The way you broke it down reminded me more of a SOAD song and no, that's not even the way I'm hearing it. Opeth sounds better though.
I like the idea of some weird scales though. Mostly because I like the vocal challenge.
tm-- Even some mainstream poppy things I can't figure out lyrics to so I look them up if I care to. I think for my pieces it's more just a personal preference, but if someone wanted to do it another way I wouldn't mind hearing their interpretation.

Indeed it was sarcasm. I'm by definition no sissy. However, that's where the sarcasm ended.

The fuck you will.
Happy and unhappy love songs just exist to keep us from forgetting what love's supposed to be, because if we forgot it would disappear. Of course, the people doing it believe that it wouldn't disappear, that it exists absolutely and irrespective of the various models we get from songs and movies and plays and books, because they really couldn't deal with it as an invented notion. But this treacly stuff is.
