Borknagar
Ok, I just heard that Borknagar came out with an all-acoustic album with absolutely no electricity at all! To me that sounds fucking ridiculous, but then again, I haven't heard anything from it so... has anyone, and what do you think?

i have the album, if you want it, my aim is teh grimness, and yes, that is spelled correctly
what i have listened to i have really liked, it has an acoustic version of oceans rise, which is really cool.

i really don't like 'origin' (the album in question). the best borknagar era was when they had Garm. stick to the first couple of albums (s/t and the olden domain) and you'll be fine.

for your information, all borknagar songs are written on an acoustic guitar in the first place. which means borknagar's acoustic album is the most true-to-form album from them yet.

Yeah, I have The Olden Domain. That's my favorite one. Oh, and a couple of songs from The Archaic Course are sweet. I'm not a fan of the stuff after that. |

Ok, liking one or two albums by a band does not always make someone a fan. For example, I like a few CoF songs and an album, but I would never want to see them live and I am definately not a fan of theirs! It's not that different from this band, though I do think they are MUCH better than CoF. Also, I don't think acoustic albums are for pussies. Earlier I had agreed that Finntroll's all acoustic album was the shit. I posted this thread because I wanted to see who had the new album and what they thought of it. And I guess that you did like the album. That's good. Thank you for you're review and your opinion. Even if I don't care much for a particular band, I still ask people how new albums are and keep an open mind about music. Also, spelling their name wrong was an accident, so get over it. Thank you for sharing you're knowlege that they start writing the music on acoustics anyways. I did not know that.

There is not a Borknagar album I don't like.
Origin is realy good. Mellow, but that is not a bad thing per se.

i really enjoy all Borknagar but i think Vintersorg(andreas) is ruining all of his bands. he is making them all folk/progressive.  I miss old Borknagar, although all of otyg is good |
