...hold the pick.

i know of these so far:
1. hold pick between index and thumb, the rest extended out(resting on
the surface, and the forearm resting on the body. usin the fingers not
the arm to pick.
2. hold pick between index and thumb, with the rest tucked under, and the
forearm is resting on the body. usin the wrist to pick.
3. hold pick between thumb and index, all fingers straight out, so you pick
up then down, usin wrist, or usin forearm.
4. hold pick between thumb, index, and middle, the rest extended out(resting
on the surface) or tucked under. usin the wrist or the forearm to pick.
5. usin any of these 4 with open space between index and thumb, or closed
space.

its hard to find the right one, even after playing for as long as i have.

I hold the pick between my index and thumb, with my pinky and occasionally my ring fingers resting on the body, the side of my palm on the bridge. and i pick with my fingers and wrist. I'll use my entire arm if it's for show and pretty slow because its one big movement straight down, looks aggressive.

i hold it between thumb and index, with my hand open (i think thats how to describe it) and my pinky and ring finger resting on the body doing all picking with finger and wrist movements.

hehe, i noticed that..... but by saying 'ME TO!' would of been more of a spam post

yeah, but its hard doing all that movement, after playing ten minutes of that, my
bicep/tricep is in pain.(usin the arm(for "agrressive look")). also when i play fast
licks like how ya'll are doing it, (with thumb and index, and rest resting on the
body, with usin wrist and finger movement) my index and thumb collapse together
and its hard to play when they're open. i've even tried to pick with just the wrist
and absolutely nothing touching the body, but i found out quick, that it doesnt work
like that...so i just keep practicing, and hurting, and trying too hard to play it right.

well if you've played a different way all your guitar life, then play that way, you will find it most natural and easier for yourself.

thats how i do it, but now i barely use picks anymre, i use my nail on my index finger, but just as if i were holding a pick
