Modelling amps

Gonna buy new amp for use at home - want effects to come with it...

Out of these which would you say is the best as well as best value for money?

Crate GTX65W

Line 6 Spider III 30w

Vox AD30 VT

or a marshall microstack... although it took a right beating in another thread

I don't know whether you are interested but I have a Marshall AVT100 that is now surplus to needs, so let me know, I'd sell it for 150 pounds. It has loads of built in effects and its a lot better than any of those. Couple of years old but recently been serviced. 100w 1x12 combo with 4-way footswitch. Incredible bass response so its perfect for heavy stuff.

Eh, if you already have another amp at home, I would suggest buying a Behringer V-Amp 2 or Pro preamp and slaving your amp to it. They're not amps, just Like 6 POD ripoffs. Or running it through you're computer speakers. Better than having a junky amp around that you'll outgrow within a year because you get to know you hate the sound, and then selling it is nearly impossible.

Those V-Amp modelers sound very very good though. Especially for some basic home recording. Has FX too.

screw the crate. It just sounds weak.
The MG is not a modelling amp, it just has some effects on a knob, you have to spin the knob to turn them on and off. I personally like the MG alot, it has sweet ass crunch with my super 2's, but only one sound... and thats mg sound
I dont know much about the vox, but i've heard both good and bad about it... check it out for yourself.
Spider, yes is a modelling amp, but not all the models are exactly useable. Clean, metal and insane are decent for the price, but the others arent exactly great. Go play one, see what you can make of the different models. Also, the channels are programmable so you can SAVE your settings to each, i.e. save metal to 1, metal w/effects to 2, and so on.

ps, the spider on ebay is a 2, not a 3. the 3 has something like 100 pre programmed settings... that one doesnt.
