anyways, rage was the first band i was ever obsessed with. last night, i spent an hour watching their videos on youtube. zach de la rocha is possessed with anger and is a very entertaining leadman. if i were 1,000 miles closer to cali, i would def try to go to cochella, but oh well.
this is badass news. i hope rage decides to tour when they see the public's reaction to their reunion.
sidenote: remember how untimley their breakup was? just, all of a sudden? that sucked donkey cunt.

I allready posted this in the RTT. it's a one-time event but I bet they'll continue if someone throws them a bunch of cash.
Oh and ofcourse they'll stay politically correct, lol. If they're playing I'de still go and see them, yought-sentiment... even if they talk loads of crap live, their music was great those days. Might be a little dated but hey, I'm getting old.

I guess Rage realizes that with the political playing field the way it is, they've got plenty of opportunity to make some jing.

I will, again.
This festival is going to be an absolute madhouse. Imagine the thousands of people releasing all that worked up anticipation they've harbored for 7 years all massing together with innocent people around.

Politically motivated 'Tantrum Rock' with an average guitarist with some interesting effects pedals.
Are they doing this for cash or are there some blokes locked up without charge in a Tibetan prison they're trying to raise the profile of?

I wonder if they're going to pick that up. I mean, it's kinda of a must but it's getting old at the same time.
Guess there'll be a DVD made of this performance or whatever. I wanna see it.

Haha. I'm sure RATM got paid a LOT of money for this.
I really dug the whole political thing when I was a lot younger, but when I got older and sort of thought about it more the preachy thing got really old. But beyond that, the music is great and I grew up on it. Can't wait.

I'd bugger Bjork.
Last I heard, Audioslave were playing live RATM and Soundgarden covers. I was never a huge RATM fan, but I have much respect for the far out things that they, especially Morello, were doing.

Yeah, their sets were known to have a lot of covers from the two.
Tickets for the day of RATM at Coachella sold out in about 30 minutes. Current price on e-bay is around 300$! I didn't wake up in time but hopefully sometime between now and then I'll come across a decent price.

Yeah, I'd dig that. I'd also be interested in hearing what Soundgarden covers are performed by Audioslave. Everything I've heard from Audioslave themselves is decent, but none of it made me want to buy their music.

I just called my friend who's seen them a couple times and he said he saw them do Spoon Man and an acoustic version of Black Hole Sun. He said the only full length RATM song they did was Killing in the Name Of, but they would combine several popular songs into one containing (from what he recalled): Bulls On Parade, People of the Sun, Born of a Broken Man.

Those aren't my favorite Soundgarden tracks, but they're good. Those are, however, my favorite RATM songs, with the addition of their Ghost of Tom Joad cover. I heard Rage's version years before I heard Springstein's version and was completely confused when I finally did. They sound nothing alike, and in a good way. I wish more people were that unique in their cover songs.

true that. the ghost of tom joad is a fantastic cover. have you heard their cover of NWA's fuck the police? or when zach recites the ginsberg poem "hadda be playin on the jukebox?"
my fav soundgarden song is probably superunknown or the day i tried to live. great stuff.
